Duties of the Committee shall include, but are not limited to the following:

    (a)    Advise the City Manager of all matters related to air pollution.

    (b)    Assist city department in identifying and applying for grants for the acquisition of alternative fuel vehicles.

    (c)    Assist all departments with acquisition of ultra-low or zero emission vehicles and equipment.

    (d)Perform outreach to residents and private sector fleet operators to encourage the purchase of ultra-low and zero emission vehicles and equipment by making the city owned LNG and CNG fueling islands open to the public.

    (e)    Promote automatic trip reduction by city employees.

    (f)    Develop education programs to train employees in the use of alternative fuel vehicles and

    (g)    Encourage the development of car-sharing programs, and provide a representative to the Clean City Program of the U.S. Department of Energy. (Ord. 01-1892, 2001)
